I know I haven't posted in forever but computers break down screwing up fractal programs and operating systems change rendering some programming obsolete and unusable. I am not liking Windows 10 that's for sure.
I happened to look the other day for a download site for MindBoggling Fractals and I could no longer find one. Thank God I was able to recover my copy of it. I would be willing to host a download site for it but I have absolutely no idea what to do in that department. It's too beautiful a program just to let it die like that. Is there a current site that I haven't found? Please leave a comment if you know something.

Hello there everyone,

It is actually SNOWING in Houston, Texas today! Day before yesterday it was 70 degrees. There is a saying down here that goes like this "If you don't like the weather now just wait a minute and it will change". Truer words were never spoken.

I have been working on Ultra Fractal and have a large amount of images to upload. I will put 2 or 3 up at a time. Asymmetry still pretty much eludes me. I just can't seem to find a way to consistently create interesting landscapes that are randomly put together. It does present a challenge which is a good thing.

My loom is still waiting but until I can get rid of some stubborn pain I'm going to have to love it from afar.

My life is better by far now that I am a grandmother. Little Jayde and baby Victor are the apples of my eye and I am enjoying an ever growing relationship with my daughter Jessica (my husband's daughter). She is quickly becoming my own and I love it.

I am as usual leaving links and information to MindBoggling Fractals plus some instructions from the ever beautiful Wolfepaw wolfepaw.deviantart.com/ on how to use the gradients from MBF in Apophysis.

""Hi, Rose!

I'm not sure if I actually wrote something about how to use MBF Colormaps in Apo. What I do is I use the "Smooth Palette" options on the Gradient Tab (part of the Adjustment dialog box) while I'm in Apo. The "Smooth Palette" is the icon that looks like a black gray white gradient. If you hover your cursor over that icon you will see the words "Smooth Palette" pop up. Click on that. You then browse to an image you rendered out of MBF and the click on that one. Apo will then create a gradient out of the colors of the MBF image you select. The Smooth Palette option will work with any jpg or bmp. When the gradient is loaded in the gradient window, you can right-click on the gradient color bar and click on "Save Gradient", give it a name and then save it in one of your gradient files/packs.

I've also noticed that if you do "Smooth Palette" again on the same image, the gradient does not always look the same. So, if you're not happy with the first result of "Smooth Palette", you can choose the same image again with "Smooth Palette" and it will come out slightly different. I've done this with several UF images. One image in particular, I have 3 different gradient ugrs that I made from "Smooth Palette". Each one is slightly different arrangement of the colors."

May you all have a beautiful day and all the love you need.

Love to all

Ultra Fractal

3 min read

Hi there everybody!

It seems my looming project is on hold until I can get nursing problems solved. So I was finally able to purchase Ultra Fractal a few months ago and I have been having loads of fun with it. It took me a while to get orientated to it. It all looked like Greek to me but with the help of tutorials both built into the program and from generous artists like Fractaholic here on dA I was able to understand the general run of things. I really, really, REALLY LOVE the program and I am so glad I was able to purchase it. I am personally an extremist and this program plays right into that. At first I figured I would probably learn how to do spirals and flowers but my curiosity and sense of adventure took me in a completely different direction. The Gradient tool is extremely user friendly and I've created several of my own gradients and have imported all of my APO gradients that actually originated in Mind Boggling Fractals as well. If you've ever looked at my work you know I am a vibrant color nut to say the least. I still want to keep posting Mind Boggling Fractals resources here so that you can make full use of them.

I'm Still Here!

I haven't posted in quite a while because my life was trying to overwhelm me a bit but it failed to do so, and I've been preparing my images for converting into bead patterns. My fractals are geared towards this goal now instead of exploring new and more exciting techniques. Monday I have an appointment at TIRR the rehab hospital and I will apply for Occupational Therapy on using a heddle loom for exercise on using my fine motor skills in my hands which will make me eligible to receive funding from the insurance company to buy my beads to work with. My dream is coming into reality. When I started converting my fractals into patterns I was very surprised to find that Apophysis images work better for patterns than Mind Boggling Fractals. The colors just work better for some reason. I converted my MBF colors into Apo gradients. Those are the colors I use for the most part.

I found a technique for making hearts from using the "Making Spirals In Apophysis Tutorial" by Moonhigh moonhigh.deviantart.com/art/Ma…  and taking a trick or two from Epogh's Script "Smoscruples Apo Overlay Script" epogh.deviantart.com/art/Smosc…  . I will post one or two of those so you can get an idea of what I've been up to.

By the way, did anybody ever come up with a fix for 7X15D dropping the Final transform when saving? I downloaded something about two weeks ago that I thought was supposed to be a fix for it but after I did I started having a "List Out Of Bounds" problem and had to get rid of and re-download 7X15D.

Each time I post a journal I re-post all the links I have for Mind Boggling Fractals resources. Mind Boggling Fractals colormaps can be converted to gradients and colormaps that work in Apophysis. Apophysis 7XC and D can create and use gradients from MBF images where Apo7X15 can only use the colormaps saved by 7X15Cand D from those gradients. The awesome thing is that when you pick on these images from MBF in versions 7X15C and D the gradient configuration is changed some so that you have the same colors but in different orders and different percentages making an infinite array of gradients and colormaps available for you to save and use. Add this to the easy access to color creation available in the MBF program itself and the color possibilities are beyond bounds for both programs. Here are the links.

I've been busy myself for a while as it seems so many of my friends have been. I just want to forewarn you that I may be off the web for a while in a few days. We're having a change in our finances and I truly hope I can find a way to keep the Internet going for the sake of my art and e-mail access and my precious friends here at dA. For those who believe I ask you to pray for a breakthrough for my financial situation.
I also have a question to pose to my Apophysis 7X15D fractal artist friends. I just downloaded and installed Apophysis 7X15D on my computer and I've created an AWESOME spiral to use with Smoscruples Apo Overlay Script by Epogh fav.me/d4l9rwu
I created my spiral using "How to Make Spirals in Apophysis Tutorial by Moonhigh in collaboration with Epogh. fav.me/d53gj5h
Then I saved it to my Spirals flame folder to use later. When I pulled it out and loaded it in my new version of Apo program to use "Smoscruples" with I made all my changes to the new final transform and saved so I could reload it later from my already edited flames folder on my Flash drive that I call E:\FLAMES\ROSE'S SPIRALS\Apo7X-121002-817-SP-3-1-4C-4-1.flame
When I go to reload it I find it never saved my edit. The Final Transform is not saved! What do I need to do? Anyone got an answer for this? I've written Xyrus02 about it and am waiting for an answer but I really need answer quik while I can still use the Internet. Thank you all for all help is greatly appreciated.
Please don't forget about "MIND BOGGLING FRACTALS" programming found at the next link. Make use of both the full version 2.5.0 and the Lite version from here. www.nahee.com/Software/MBF/

Please take advantage of these absolutely FREE resources. I've been able to use MBF Colormaps on my APO images. I have shot a note to a dA artist for the instructions on how to do it. When they send me the instructions I will update this.

Here is the information as promiissed above.

Take care,Rose."
